Separated from the Tyrrhenian Sea by a narrow segment of dunes, the Natural Reserve of the Lake Burano is an authentic paradise. Managed by WWF, the oasis extends throughout an area of more than a thousand hectares with beaches of 12 km, a lake and dune covered by the Mediterranean scrub.
The lake has a surface of 140 hectares and a depth of about one metre. Do not miss out on the routes to discover the oasis, the sighting towers, the butterfly garden and the beach.
Many are the occasions for bird watching and sighting of many other species of mammals. The Oasis also offers a time to admire the numerous species of trees and plants that characterise the Mediterranean scrub, including juniper, myrtle, lentisk scrubs, as well as cork oak, stagnant cane, eichhornia crassipes and much more.
